ACO Tractor Equipment was founded in 1986 in Hoopstad, Free State, South Africa by Alph Coetzer and his son Koos Coetzer. They were manufacturers of 4WD articulated tractors and a few MFWD tractors. After building about 450 tractors over the span of 13 years, in 1999 the company and designs were sold to Basil Botha.[1]

ACO 2000Edit

Basil Botha renamed the company ACO Tractor Manufacturing in 2000, and the tractors were re-engineered to use Caterpillar Engines, and called ACO 2000. The company is now defunct, with very few ACO 2000 tractors having been built.
