The Allen Grader was a light weight towed grader made for maintaining farm tracks and roadways and leveling fields, originally horse pulled they could be used behind a small crawler tractor or a standard wheeled tractor. They required two men to operate as a man was needed to rise on the machine to operate the two control wheels to set the depth of cut and adjust the blade angle and rotation. By the 1950s hydraulically operated versions usually mounted directly on a tractor had taken over for most applications as they could be operated by one man.
