P.B.Bettinson Ltd of Holbeach Linconshire, were an Agricultural Engineers and dealership .
Opened in 1941 by former Levertons of Spalding sales manager Percy Bettinson. They supplied several makes of machinery and built a range of own brand implements and accessories. Mr George Souter, as Managing Director, ran the company from the mid 1950's to 1962 which had by then also diversified into importing and exporting agricultural machineryand tractors, into various agricultural and house building projects, started and built the local Ford garage dealership. After 1963 they moved from being a dealership to concentrate on manufacturing under the new general manger Dick Stocks.
Machinery Range[]
- 3 wheel conversion for Fordson E1A Major and Fordson E27N Major for row crop work. This kit was introduced in April 1951 and a later price list showed it cost £75.
- Cultivators
- Harrows
- Rotary Cutters
- Row crop wheels
- Molcage wheels
They then went on to design and build a range of seed drills, The Bettinson DD direct drill.
The company was bought out in the late 1970s by Hestair Ltd.
