Blaw-Knox is one of the most prominent manufacturers of road paving equipment in the world. Based in the USA, it is currently part of Volvo Construction Equipment of Sweden, after Ingersoll-Rand divested their road making equipment operation's in 2007.[1] Blaw-Know having been a part of this division for several years.

History[]

The company was formed from two companies (Blaw and Knox) and eventually was purchased by White Consolidated Industries. The company started as a maker of concrete forms made from steel. When road construction methods changed from concrete to flexible paving the company became a maker of highway pavers with factories and offices in many countries.

The company designed the distinctive Blaw-Knox tower in the 1930's - a radio transmitter distinguished by its diamond-shaped appearance.
