CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is an Organisation in the UK that is responsible for training plant operators and the certification of them, as competent & fit to operate machines, by the issue of a skills card (Plant Operators License). The Organisation is funded by a levy on companies in the construction industry. The operate from a former RAF base at Bichhan Newton in Norfolk.

Other organisations operate the training as well, but are certified by the CITB. They provide traing across a wide range of Building trades as well as plant;

  • Plant operatives
  • Scaffolding
  • Trades

It was set up help fill the need for operators of plant during the rebuilding after the war.
