Champion Tractors (Tracteur Champion in French) was a brand of tractor built from 1952 by the French company of Moteur Ceres, an engine manufacturer.[1]
History[]
The company originally built engines, some of which which were used in French re-engineering of various versions of tractors imported into France post World War II.
In 1952 it was decided to build a French tractor to meet post-war demand for food production using less labour.
By 1960 demand had dropped and the bigger manufactures were gaining market share and the company ceased tractor building after manufacturing about 5,000 machines in the previous 7 years.
The parent company continued till 1992 building engines and the Generators.
