SC Hart SA company was originally founded in 1973 as Tractor and Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing Company, Miercurea Ciu in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania. In 1976, the company built its first tractor under the Hart brand, which is an abbreviation of "Harghita". From 1978-1983, Hart built tractors licensed from Fiat, and in 1983 they began assembling the Hart SM 800 tractors. Hart introduced the Hart 200 and 200DT in 1983, and from 1994-1997 built 45 hp, 53 hp, 64 hp tractors. Supposedly, some of the tractors were built using the Universal (UTB) brand and/or licensing.

In 2008, the company was listed as offering up to 75% of the company for sale.[1] In 2009, the company was listed as being in liquidation.[2]
