Model history[]

Main article: International Harvester

For gasoline-powered model see International B414 gasoline

The British-built International B414 diesel utility tractor was introduced in 1961 as the replacement for the B275 (although the older model continued in production until 1968). The B414 used the same basic 4-cylinder diesel engine design but a ¼" larger bore increased engine displacement from 143 ci to 154 ci. A gasoline version was added in 1962, primarily for the US market. In mid-1964 the US-built 424 was introduced in the US as the replacement for the B414, but the older model continued in production until 1966.

Tractor Comparison, diesel models in US[]

In 1962 the International B414 diesel was lower-priced than all of its competitors except for the John Deere 1010. By 1966 International Harvester was promoting the US-built 424 in this hp class but the still-available B414 served as a price leader and undercut the price of the newer-design Ford 3000, John Deere 1020, and Massey Ferguson MF135 significantly and the Fiat-built Oliver 1250 by a small amount.
