The International Cub Cadet 782 was built by International Harvester from 1979 to 1981 in the Louisville, Kentucky, USA factory. IH sold the lawn and garden line in 1981/1982 to MTD Products, and the company was renamed Cub Cadet Corporation, or CCC. It features a 17 hp (13 kW) Kohler engine.

The hydrostatic 17 hp (13 kW) International Cub Cadet 782 was basically a deluxe version of the 682, with a high-back seat and hubcaps and optional dual hydraulics.
