In mid-1937, the 18,800 lb GVW D-50 replaced the 17,000 lb International C-50. The FBB-298 overhead-valve 6-cylinder gasoline engine was an enlargement of the FBB-279 used in the C-50. The basic D-50 was also available as the DR-50, with double-reduction rear axle, DS-50, with 2-speed rear axle, and DD-50/DRD-50 with Cummins 4-cylinder diesel engines. In 1941 the D-50 series was replaced by the K-8 series.
