The Massey Ferguson 65 was built to follow on from the successful Massey Ferguson 35 as a higher horsepower tractor. The MF 65 featured a 65 hp (48 kW) Perkins engine. It was replaced by the Massey Ferguson 165 in 1964/5.

The MF 65 was introduced in 1958, To complement the Massey-Ferguson 35. It was built in multiple factories around the world including the USA, Brazil by Massey Ferguson do Brasil S.A., an in Belgrade, Yugoslavia by licensee IMT.
