Melroe Manufacturing Company was founded in 1947 by E.G. Melroe in Gwinner, North Dakota, USA. Melroe first made a spring-tooth harrow and pick-up header for harvesting. In the 1950's, they produced the first skid loader.
In 196x Melroe was taken over by Clark Equipment Company of ?
In 1995, Melroe was bought by Ingersoll-Rand Company and was later renamed to Bobcat Company.
In 2007 the Bobcat division was sold by Ingersoll-Rand to Doosan Infracore of South Korea.
