The Onan Corporation was founded in 1920 by D.W. (David) Onan in Minneapolis, MN, USA. They manufactured small engines and generators. In 1985, Cummins purchased part of Onan. By 1992, Onan had been fully purchased by Cummins and the generator line is all the remains in production. They are marketed under the Cummins Onan brand as a part of the Cummins Power Generation division.^[1]
