The Phoenix articulated tractors were built by Farmers Tractors Australia Pty Ltd in Merredin, Western Australia, Australia by Laurie Phillips, the founder of Acremaster. After he sold off, or lost control of, Acremaster, also an articulated tractor manufacturer, he went on to found Farmers Tractors Australia Pty Ltd. At least one model even used the Acremaster name on it. The company built tractors for four years before falling on difficult times.[1]
Mr. Phillips went on to found Phillbourne Manufacturing.[2]
